Refund Policy

We want you to book with confidence. This Refund Policy explains when and how you can cancel a booking, what refund you can expect, and how to request one. fairtravels.ai is operated by Velocity Digital Labs.

1. Free Cancellation Window

You may cancel a booking for a full refund if both of the following conditions are met:

  • The cancellation is made within 24 hours of the booking confirmation
  • The travel date is more than 7 days from the date of cancellation

Full refunds under this policy include the booking amount and any service fees charged by fairtravels.ai. Payment processing fees charged by Stripe or Razorpay may not be refundable.

2. Cancellations After the Free Window

After the 24-hour free cancellation window, refunds are determined by the cancellation policies of the underlying travel supplier (airline, hotel, or tour operator). Typical supplier policies are as follows:

These are general guidelines. The actual refund amount depends on the specific supplier's terms, which are displayed during the booking process. Bookings marked as “non-refundable” at the time of purchase are not eligible for refunds regardless of cancellation timing.

3. Airline-Specific Policies

Airline tickets are subject to the fare rules of the issuing carrier. Key points:

  • Refundable tickets are refunded per the airline's policy, minus any applicable cancellation fees
  • Non-refundable tickets may be eligible for a credit or voucher with the airline (not a cash refund), depending on the carrier
  • Airline schedule changes or cancellations initiated by the carrier entitle you to a full refund

We facilitate the refund process with the airline on your behalf, but the refund amount and timeline are determined by the airline.

4. Hotel-Specific Policies

  • Hotels with “free cancellation” can typically be cancelled without charge up to the date shown during booking
  • Hotels booked at “non-refundable” rates are not eligible for refunds
  • No-shows (failure to check in without cancelling) are charged the full booking amount

5. Price Lock Refunds

If you used the price lock feature but did not complete the booking:

  • No charge is applied for price locks that expire without a booking
  • If a price lock deposit was collected and the booking was not completed, the deposit is automatically refunded within 3–5 business days

6. Partial Cancellations

For multi-component bookings (e.g., flight + hotel packages):

  • You may cancel individual components if the supplier allows it
  • Refunds are calculated based on each component's individual cancellation policy
  • Cancelling one component does not automatically cancel the others — you must cancel each separately if desired
  • Bundle discounts may be adjusted if you cancel part of a package, which could reduce the refund amount

7. Supplier-Initiated Cancellations

If a travel supplier cancels your booking (flight cancellation, hotel overbooking, etc.):

  • You are entitled to a full refund of the affected component, including any service fees
  • Where possible, we will offer a comparable alternative at no additional cost
  • We will notify you immediately and work to resolve the situation

8. Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refunds:

  • fairtravels.ai service fees (after the 24-hour free cancellation window)
  • Bookings explicitly marked as non-refundable at the time of purchase
  • Travel insurance premiums (governed by the insurer's policy)
  • No-show charges

9. Refund Processing Times

Once a refund is approved:

  • Stripe (USD): 5–10 business days to appear on your statement
  • Razorpay (INR): 5–7 business days to appear in your account
  • UPI refunds: Typically 2–3 business days

Refunds are always returned to the original payment method. We cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method or account.

10. How to Request a Refund

To request a cancellation and refund:

  1. Log in to your fairtravels.ai account and navigate to your bookings
  2. Select the booking you wish to cancel
  3. Follow the cancellation flow — you will see the applicable refund amount before confirming

Alternatively, you can email us at support@fairtravels.ai with your booking reference number. We aim to process all refund requests within 2 business days.

11. Disputes

If you believe a refund was incorrectly denied or the amount was wrong:

  • Contact us at support@fairtravels.ai within 30 days of the original transaction
  • Include your booking reference number and a description of the issue
  • We will review your case and respond within 5 business days

If you are unsatisfied with the resolution, you may escalate through your payment provider's dispute process or contact us at legal@fairtravels.ai.
